Mt. Vernon, Mo – Apple Butter Makin’ Days will be October 9-11, 2015. Most of the activity will be centered around the courthouse square, as it has been done since 1967.
Watch as the craft of cooking apple butter is demonstrated using the huge copper kettles over an open fire each morning of the festival. And, you will be able to buy some to take home with you!
There will be craft booths, games, food and entertainment. There is nothing like the smell of kettle corn and funnel cakes, and the sound of Bluegrass, Country and Gospel music, to get you into the festival spirit!
The parade takes place Saturday morning, and there are other events you won’t want to miss, such as the baby show, pet parade (on Friday), gun fight on the square, and more.
